Transportation Minister Addressed TCM

Members of the Transportation Club of Moncton gathered for their monthly dinner & meeting at Fisherman’s Paradise Restaurant in Dieppe. Chef Noella Comeau & her team prepared a delicious meal of Baked Haddock with Seafood Sauce along with Mashed Potatoes & Mixed Vegetates, finishing with a yummy Cherry Cheesecake. Transportation Minister Claude Williams was this month’s guest speaker & he spoke of the challenges of keeping our roads & highways in good shape with a shrinking budget each year. The idea of tolls was also mentioned, however, the Minister said that both he & the Premier would not impose tolls without a referendum asking the people of NB first. During the event there was a 50/50 draw & door prizes which helped raise funds, as the Club is a non-profit volunteer oriented organization that encourages excellence through fellowship by promoting all aspects of the industry, while cultivating the mutual & educational interests of its members. Recently the Club completed its five year $10,000 donation to the NBCC Foundation/Fondation CCNB for second year student scholarships in the transportation program.
